Our blog has officially earned money!!
I bring great news!!
I feel very proud of bringing great news to you people. I have to announce something officially.
We have earned money!!!! Yes we really have, yes indeedi... We the bloggers of 8 nuts community have officially earned money from our group blog!! Whether we worked hard or not to get this money, is another question all together.. (=D) but nonetheless we did earn money. So without further adieu... i announce that we have officially earned $2.62 or rather 2 dollars and 62 cents. and thats approximately Rs.117.3 or rather 117 rupees and 32 paise.. approximately. We should be very proud cause we didn't do much... jut posted a little.. called a few people... just off handed work.. but just imagine how much we will earn if we did work on it diligently!! yeah... this could be a good note to start off operations in full swing again... lets blog... and earn... oh by the way... do you guys want the money now? Actually if I did have to do that.. all that money would go away in the essence of just mailing all you guys the money with postage and all... (=D) but it will be fun... do tell.. by posting in the shoutbox! or commenting...

So many updates, yet so many to go...
Hey people of the "8 nuts in a duffel bag" blog community. There have been a lot! of changes to the blog since last week and the week before. I would just like to say that the blog is actually going well... I mean this is one in a million and already there is so much activity in this place. So kudos to the you guys, this blog is really going in a positive direction. A few things, don't worry about things like traffic and looks. I am and will be constantly working on that. There are many ways to increase blog traffic and I will be implementing them soon. But! we are still in stark need of more people who are willing to post to the blog. That will be a far tougher task than bringing traffic will be, because a blog depends on its writers. The better they are, the better the blog is.
So far as i can tell, the bloggers we have here are really good. So we have a very good chance of making it big! but! that will take time and effort. A year or so will be surely required for us to build up a dedicated readership and some popularity. Rest assured though, eventually if we keep at it I am sure we will be able to achieve it.
A few things to note though.
1)We need to be wary of using the present day "sms" language. As in, using a u for a you or a k for a okay or a i instead of an I. Punctuation and grammar also must be looked into. I am not saying that these errors have occurred, I am only saying that these errors must be watched out for because I find myself doing these errors out of pure habit so please do watch out for them.
2)We need more people! We really do. So anyone you know who you think would be remotely interested in posting in a blog and has enough language skills, please do refer them to the blog. This is because we are right now aiming to ensure that each topic at least has one post in it per week. To ensure this and not to put a burden on ourselves we need more people to post so that its easy and is convenient and is not a hassle.
Now about the various updates to the blog:
1) Banners are now taking the place of the earlier links as you would have already noticed by now, Please do let me know what you think of them and if you want them changed in anyway.
2)Updates to a particular blog can now be found out by giving your email address. Every time a topic is updated, you will be informed of it by emails to your email account. To activate this , you have to enter your email address in the box form that is at the end of each side bar of each of the individual blogs. It is the one with a "Subscribe me!" button below it. You have to enter your email address and press the "Subscribe me" button . So no need to worry about missing any updates and no need to constantly keep checking the main blog to find out.
3) We now have our very own 8 nuts in a duffel bag poll! so check for the question posted every week, we just started with the background color thing because I really wanted to know. But next week onwards, it should get a little more interesting.
4)A community has been created in orkut for the "8 nuts" team by Avinash, please do join, and you can use that as a platform for the communication within us.
5)We also have a guest book now. What is that you ask? Its just like any other guest book. If a person come to the blog, he can use the guest book to leave us comments about the blog and what he thought about it. It's placed just below the 8 nuts in a duffel bag poll on the main blog page.
6) Specific add ons to the different topics. For the Humor section, there is the comic of the day. Which when clicked upon will show a new comic each day. For the Real world section, we have a "this day in history" add on which will inform you about events that happened in history on the present particular day. And finally in the art section, we have the caricature of the day, wherein a new caricature will be shown in the section each day. In the entertainment section, there is a music player added that streams and plays a wide range of legal music off the net. Check them out, you are bound to find them interesting.
7) We have Google adds now. These adds will be placed at the bottom of each topic, so there is no need to worry about them being obtrusive.
8)One more visual addition is the addition of snap! To see what this is, just hover your mouse over any of the banner links of any of the topics.
9)Also, now all the members of the blog will be able to access the "Google analytics" report about our site. This is a service offered by Google which constantly monitors the site and gives us a comprehensive report on the site usage statics. You should now be able to view the report in your my services option in your Gmail account.
10)The counter at the bottom of the main page has been removed because the main page became too cluttered.
Updates that have been planned:
1)A credits list, listed on a different page altogether featuring a little about each contributor to the blog along with a link to their personal blog. (if they have one of course...)
2)A contributors personal life updates page. This will feature changes in the lives of the people who contribute to the blog and will be about only them.
3)An update counter, for showing on the main page when one of the topics are updated... (this one although might take some time, cause I still don't know how to go about this one...)
4)A guest writer section. When we get good popular enough, we will have a guest writer section, wherein we will feature a new guest writer every month who will post for the blog in the guest writer section.
5)Try to embed flash into the blog, so that the blog looks better... (again this also might take some time as its a long procedure and is very time consuming... )
Please do comment about your suggestions or things you would like to see in this blog.
And certainly refer people if you can, we need posters. And I assure you, this blog is doing really well and soon we can make this into a pretty good. But thats not the primary concern for a blogger I suppose. This is a medium where one is free to express their opinions, as they wish as long as they support them and feel strongly about them. So, rest assured, feel free to post on whatever! topic you wish to, no hassles. For example if you wish to post on things like racism, porn, discrimination whatever it is, it is okay. But in the case of the porn though, while posting about porn is okay, please do refrain from actually posting porn ;) . And also, please free to post in your own style, uniqueness is good. So, ill stop my bakvaas here.. :) See all you peeps later... Thats it for now, happy posting... :D

8 nuts in a duffel bag
Ah finally, the first post!! Its always good to make the first post, life a fresh start, but considering that i am the one to make the blog, it does take the fun out of it. Anyway, this is the one, the only! 8 nuts in a duffel bag blog.
A group blog that is and will be handled by a group of people who's number will only rise. (i hope...) The point of this blog is to give people a one stop blog. This is the definitive blog, if you like to read blogs, you need go no further, this blog covers a whole! range of topics. From science to humor, from philosophy to sports. Oh yeah, this blog should have it all. (pretty soon...)
This is a work in progress. The posting will start, but do forgive the brash look for a blog that says to do a whole lot, we have been having a few problems with the people doing the designing (the problem being that they haven't..), hopefully, we can get it to look stunning soon.
